Charms bar is the actually the handy toolbar that pop ups on the right side of your screen as you move your mouse to top or bottom right corner. This bar provides many useful features such as search, power menu, PC settings and many others.
But this bar can be annoying sometimes as it accidentally pops up, the moment you move your mouse pointer to top right or bottom right corner, even if you did not mean to open it. You don’t have to worry as we are here with a solution for this problem.
All you have to do is perform a little registry tweak and charms bar will not open even if you move your mouse pointer to top right or bottom corner. After this tweak, if you want to open charms bar, you will have to move your mouse pointer to any of the top right or bottom right corner and move it towards the other corner.
To apply this tweak, follow these steps:
Step 1: Press Windows + R button and type regedit and press enter.
Step 2: Navigate to the following path:
Step 3: Here you need to create a new key named EdgeUI. To do this, right click in the right span and select New > Key
This will create a new folder in your left panel named as New Key # 1, now simply rename it to EdgeUI.
Step 4: Click on the EdgeUI key which you have just created and right click in the right pane and choose New > DWORD (32-bit)
Name it as DisableCharmsHint and value as 1
That is it! You don’t have to reboot your PC for these settings to take effect. Simply close the registry editor and now try moving mouse pointer to top or bottom right corner and charms bar won’t open. To open charms bar now, move your mouse pointer to top right corner and move it towards bottom right corner or move it to bottom right corner and now drag towards the upper corner and charms bar will popup.
