With everyday there are new updates for applications, few are just some bug fixes while others do bring new features. Similarly with the launch of windows 8, an app store has been provided from where users can download windows apps, and updating them is easy. If you are facing some issues in updating apps in windows 8, it is probably because of the store cache.

So the best shot to solve the error in updating apps in windows 8 is the clear the store cache and things will run smooth. For this, you need to follow these steps:

  • Open the RUN dialogue box. You can do so by pressing Windows + R keys.
  • Type WSReset.exe, and press enter.
  • After this the store will open and automatically it will clear the cache and will present you the message: “The cache for the store was cleared. You can now browse the store for apps”

That’s it. Your old cache will be cleared and now you can browse or update apps if you were previously facing any issue. Note that this method will not remove any installed apps but will only clear the cache of the store.

This did not work it opened command promt and just sits there and does nothing and and when i click the app store it opens then closes again

    • Well this should. Are you sure you are putting correct words as mentioned above? Try using WSReset.exe and WSReset in Run Dialogue box, and then it should. Let us know if you still face the issue.

Can you tell me how to delete game data? I mean I open Zynga Poker, I sign in to Facebook then I sign out but when I try to sign in to other FB account it takes me back to previous FB account although I clicked Sign out. I can’t find how to delete or to clear data so Zynga Poker forgets Facebook. I use this WSReset.exe thing but it works sometimes and sometimes not for Zynga Poker. In Android it’s simple. You sign out then you sign in. Windows ignores signing out from FB acoun in Zynga Poker game.
