Install .NET Framework 3.5, 3.0 or 2.0 in Windows 8
Windows 8 brought the latest version of .NET Framework. With windows 8, you get .NET Framework 4.5 which is an upgrade to to its predecessor 4.0 version. This framework runs all latest applications but still there may be some old applications which will ask you to install older version of .NET framework.
If any of the application in windows 8 asks older version of .NET framework then you don’t have to download and install it because Windows 8 comes with older versions as well i.e. .NET Framework 3.5, 3.0 and 2.0. All you have to do is to enable them in order for them to work.
So to enable .NET Framework 3.5, 3.0 or 2.0 versions in Windows 8, simply follow these steps:
Step 1: Go to Windows 8 Start Screen and search for “Turn Windows Features” while selecting the Settings tab.
Step 2: As you choose the indicated option in above step, a dialogue box will open with windows 8 features that you can enable or disable. The the first option will be .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0), simply select it and click OK.
Note that all the features listed here will be installed automatically without having to download anything from internet.
Also, Windows 8 does not include .NET Framework version 1.1 so if you want this version, you should download and install it via Microsoft via following link:
