As a Windows 8 user, you know that it opens any web links from Metro Style apps in the Metro version of Internet Explorer. Most of the users do not like this feature and want this to be opened in the desktop version of internet explorer.

To get started go to the start screen by moving your mouse pointer to right edge of the screen and choose Start or shift+click on start button, if you have installed Classic Shell to have windows 7 like start menu, and type in inetcpl.cpl and hit Enter.

Note that you can also visit these settings by simply going to Internet Options from Internet Explorer. Once you are there, click on the Programs tab and change the “Choose how you open links” option to Always in Internet Explorer on the desktop.

Doing this will always open links from Metro Apps in desktop version of Internet Explorer instead of metro version of internet explorer.
