Windows 8 by default allows you to pin programs and applications to your start screen. But this pinning is limited to executable files (.exe), management console (.msc), shortcuts, folders.

But with a simple registry tweak you can enable this option for any object, be it a picture or a document, or a saved page. You can pin anything to your start screen just by right clicking on it.

Simply merge the following registry tweak:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\pintostartscreen]

“MUIVerb”=”@shell32.dll,-51201″

“NeverDefault”=”"

“Description”=”@shell32.dll,-51202″

“MultiSelectModel”=”Single”

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\pintostartscreen\command]

“DelegateExecute”=”{470C0EBD-5D73-4d58-9CED-E91E22E23282}”

If you are not sure, how to do it then simply download this registry tweak and run it. Everything will be done automatically. The package also contains reset to default tweak as well.
